Formatting options for Your Flashcards

To help you perfectly customize your flashcards, we offer a wide range of formatting options in both our web app and mobile app. This way, you can create flashcards exactly the way you need to optimize your learning process.

How Do I Format My Flashcards?

  1. Go to your library.
  2. Select an existing set or create a new one by clicking on “+ Create New Set.”
  3. Click the “+” / “+ Add Materials” button at the bottom left.
  4. Select the option “Manually Create Flashcards.”

The flashcard editor will now open. You can enter your question in the top field and your answer in the bottom field.

Available Formatting Options

Text Styling:

  • “B” – Bold: Highlight important words or phrases in bold.
  • “I” – Italic: Emphasize words or phrases, e.g., quotes or definitions.
  • “U” – Underline: Add emphasis to important points by underlining them.
  • “Aa” / Color Circle: Change the text color to make key content stand out visually.

Images and Drawing:

  • Image Icon: Add an image to your flashcard’s question or answer.
  • Pencil Icon: Use the drawing tool to create sketches or visual notes on your flashcard.

Lists and Bullet Points:

  • List Icon: Format content as a list to better organize multiple points.

Advanced Formatting Options (Web App):

Click on the three dots in the editor to access the following features:

  • Highlight Icon: Set a background color for your text.
  • “Subscript” / “Superscript”: Position text below or above the baseline (e.g., for formulas or indices).
  • Formula Icon: Use MathType to easily add mathematical formulas.
  • Unordered and Ordered Lists: Create numbered or bulleted lists to organize processes or checklists.
  • Adjust Indentation: Increase or decrease the indentation to customize the alignment of your text.
  • Text Alignment: Choose between left-aligned, right-aligned, or centered text.
  • ChemType: Use ChemType to easily input chemical formulas.
  • Code Snippet: Add programming codes with syntax highlighting for easy reference.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use formatting in the mobile app?

Yes, most features like bold, italic, underline, images, and bullet points are available in the mobile app. However, advanced features like MathType and ChemType are only available in the web app.

Is there a limit to how many formatting options I can use?

No, you can use as many formatting options as you like. Customize your flashcards as much as needed!

Can I edit existing flashcards to add formatting?

Yes, you can always access the flashcard editor to add or change formatting as needed.
